What To Wear For A Capricious Spring

These Kit and Ace pieces are made of technical cashmere.

This is the appropriately named patio pant from J. Crew in a wool blend marked down with an additional discount!

Cheap and cheerful Uniqlo cotton cashmere is on sale right now for $14.90.

Catarzi wide brim fedora available at ASOS.

Over at Apartment Therapy they're calling the recent mix of dreary cold with sunny mild days, "sprinter." That seems most evocative of track and field sports to me. I just call it spring—with more bite to it this year, but certainly nothing new. After all, T.S. Eliot wrote long ago, "April is the cruelest month." And on those days, where it seems that Mother Nature is giving you the cold shoulder I suggest you turn to wool for a touch of warmth. Think pointelle instead of chunky cable knit. Think lightweight, light colors, and casual silhouettes. You can still wear your wool felt fedora or floppy hat, especially if it provides a pop of color. A pale neutral works too.
